i come home tuesday.
that's really surreal and weird
on many different levels.
first, i haven't been home in six months.
it's going to be an adjustment with parents, friends
and car situation. haha.
secondly, i just finished my freshman year of college.
i'm a fourth of the way finished with college.
so much has happened since i've been gone.
i've learned so much- more about life than anything related to textbooks or classes.
i guess that's the way it's meant to be though.
despite all that's happened i feel like i've stayed true to myself
and i feel like i've become more and more the person i want to be.
i'm excited to see familiar faces waiting in the airport for me.
it'll be a relief to have something , despite the transition back, that's constant.
but leaving is definately a bittersweet thing.
i live here now.
waco, texas is my home.
it's hard to leave knowing that when i do some things
will never go back to the way they were,
but it's nice to know that i am leaving some things behind for good.
i'm looking forward to hanging out with people
and going camping.

so, i'm pretty sure i know what i am doing with my life after
i'm finished with college at baylor.
i'm going to open up my own venue.
it's going to be a lot of work, but well worth it.
and it's kind of nice to have something to work towards.
p.s. i watched disturbia tonight.

some people really get my under my skin,
especially half- hearted/fair weathered friends,
and it makes me more pissed that i let them.
question-- what is the definition of a good friend?
but on another note--
every time the weather starts changing
so does everything in my life.
in a couple months i think i might regret saying this,
but i'm kind of tired of dramatic changes.
i've had my fair share in the past 6-8 months,
thank you very much,
not that everything didn't work out just fine,
but man, i want something constant.
this semester is almost over.
thank god.
i'm ready for summer.
and clarksville, which i never, ever thought i'd say.
i miss good friends.
and sweet tea. haha.

i've decided i don't like cold weather very much.
my room has no heat at all,
so, i'm continually under blankets-- not that that is bad,
but it's the getting up that is.
i'm going to go look at houses today.
i'm so excited.
my first, real place on my own.
despite the fact that five other girls will share it with me.
seriously, it makes me really happy thinking about it.
i can :
-cook my own food.
-have a cat/ dog.
-decorate and buy furniture that i want
-have people come visit and stay with me
-live with people i actually enjoy spending time with
-have dinner/ movie parties
the possibilities are endless.
and i might to come back home (waco) sooner than expected!
this semester has been so good so far.
last semester was horrible.
it's been hard to but,
i'm standing on my own two feet now.
confidently, too, if i say so myself. haha.
life has it's cycles and it's hopefully,
fingers crossed,
starting a happy/ peaceful cycle.
new friends, new classes, new adventures.
i have started living life day to day and it's made me a much happier person.
it's been really hard for me because i am a dreamer.
i like to dream of the future and possible outcomes for me.
but the reality is i can only do so much of that.
dreaming is okay,
but when do your expectations
align perfectly with reality?
rarely, rarely.
so, i've started living life for the next 24 hrs.
i've been changing a lot of things, it's good.

how do you let go of things
that you have been trying and trying to get rid of
but they won't go away
despite all of you efforts to move on and forget?
it's seriously driving me nuts.
i've tried absolutely everything.
i've been praying for it to go away for a really long time.
yeah, absolutely nothing.
still there, almost haunting and/ or taunting me.
i guess it's pay back for the things i've done in the past
or for the person i used to be.
almost karma-ish, but not.
jeez, i sure as hell wish i hadn't done those things to begin with,
but if i knew it was going to be like this,
where i couldn't let go,
i for sure -- for sure-- wouldn't have done them.
letting go is weird because you don't necessarily want to,
but are either are forced to or know it's necessary, so you have to.
lame. mine is a mix of both.
i feel like it's almost an endless circle.
it's almost to the point of being ridiculous.
actually, it passed that point a long time ago.
i feel like this is a constant game of falling short.
i just want to move on.
i feel like none of that makes sense at all,
only in a messed up way in my head.

how do you know what's right for your life?
like, for example, your major in college(a very relevant topic for most).
won't it all depend on things that will depend on other decisions?
like where you live, who you marry, how you spend your time, how much money you have,
opportunities, contacts you make, etc.
or do you let your decision stand alone and all those things fall in place?
i think too much.
i want kids.
i've always wanted them.
and i get really jealous of people who have them.
there is a couple that goes to my church and they carry the most beautiful little boy
around in a little sling carrier.
i want a baby and a sling carrier.
despite the lack of sleep and everything.
whatever, that is a very looong way off.
eh, i want to come home for a little while.
i want to go to brandon's and bryan's apartment
and hang out with everyone and see how life's treating them.

my life is weird.
it's hard adjusting so much of your life at one time.
especially when it was more than you asked for.
i'm at the beach.
it's so peaceful.
i'm never coming back.
i have been so disconnected with reality.
hillmont, line camp, the beach -- all back to back.
i'm waiting for it to punch me in the face,
which it will.
oh, reality.
i'm ready to be home.
and by home i mean waco.
i need to feel some normalcy there.
i need to find my niche.
lauren and emily have yet again made me realize how thankful i am to have such close friends.
the seven of us that started out in sixth grade have become family over the years.
it's so nice to have something stable and dependable in my life.
i want to live in an aquarium. |
